JADE+QA is International architectural and planning studio established in UK, Hong Kong and China by British architect Martin Jochman BA Arch, Dip Arch RIBA and Kiona Qing Wang MA, Leed GA. Prior to JADE+QA Martin has designed in UK, and internationally, as a design team leader and design director, many high profile projects such as the Jumeira Beach Hotel and the Wild Wadi Waterpark in Dubai, Redevelopment of city centre in Kiev Ukraine, Tianjin TEDA towers, Wuhan Pebbles, Shimao Wonderland Intercontinental Hotel in China and other important landmarks, winning numerous national and international competitions and awards.

Our teams in UAE and United Kingdom are experienced in providing complete design consultancy service from Concept to Completion inclusive of Scheme and Design Development stages inclusive of overview and coordination of Construction Drawing and Site Construction stages.
Our portfolio of work represents many years of experience of our team members both in UK, Internationally and in China where JADE+ QA has been active for more than 10 years. The concepts, scheme development, construction documents and the construction site experience has all been managed and produced by our studio team members. Our combined know how covers many diverse building types ranging from residential to retail and mixed commercial developments to many different hotel types, both in city centre and holiday resort locations. We have also designed themed projects such as aquariums, water parks and other leisure led and themed developments.

January 2020 – Martin has received an honour as the ‘Best Hotel Architect Designer of the year 2020‘ at recent gala event of the Best Hotels Awards at the Shangrila Hotel in Shanghai
28/11/2019 At a MIPIM Asia Summit Gala dinner on 27th November JADE+QA received Silver Prize in the Best Hotel and Tourism Award Category. We would like to thank all teams of Interior designers, Engineers from ECADI, Landscape architects from BAM, the management team from Shimao and the Intercontinental team for helping to make this dream into reality – dream destination.
December 2019 – Joe Lalli Resort Hotel in Moganshan, China received 2nd prize for the Best Hotel Category from the Deluxe Destinations Awards.
February – March 2020 – COVID-19 Shanghai and UK studios in lock down, but operating from homes in Shanghai, Moscow and Bristol, UK.
April – May 2020 – COVID 19 ANOUNCMENT – Our Shanghai studio is now fully operational with new projects in Shenzhen and ongoing projects proceeding. UK studio is still in lock down working from homes.
MAY 2020 – We are pleased to have been invited to present and exhibit our projects at a exhibition TIME SPACE EXISTENCE in Venice during the next Venice Biennale
May 16th 2020 – JADE+QA was nominated out of over 7000 entries for the Best Hotels award at the 10th IDEAS-TOPS Award event in Shenzhen for the Wonderland Intercontinental Hotel.
June 2021 – We are very pleased to announce that we have received Silver prizes for our Joe Lalli Narada Hotel and for our Hekou Aviation Town Master planning from the Global Habitat Design Awards. The GHDA Awards ceremony will be held in the Intercontinental Hotel in Shanghai on 11th June 2021
October 2021 – Martin has returned to Shanghai on October 4th and after 3 week quarantine rejoined the office.
November 2021 – Trip to Xiamen to present the 5 Star Egret Island Hotel to the Government. Successful presentation eans we can progress the design to next stage.
December 2021 – on 10th December Martin presented a keynote speach on the theme of From Sensitivity to Sensibility at the Guangzhou Design Week Global Laboratory Forum and presented awards to the winners of the international awards programme
January 2022 – We have received an award from the Ideal Architecture Festival for our Xiamen Egret Island 5 star hotel as best hotel concept of 2021
July 2022 – Due to the excessive restrictions of the 0 Covid policy JADE +QA has relocated operations to Dubai UAE . We are operating as normal with support team in UAE and in UK. We shall hopefully reopen the the China office when the situation improves.
December 2022 – Martin presented his design principles and the design philosophy of Sensitive Design behind the Wonderland Intercontinental Hotel in a disused quarry near in Songjiang near Shanghai at an annual Israel Real Estate Conference and forum in Eilat on the Red Sea.
